Companies and users of SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition, SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition (SQL Server Mobile) or SQL Server 2000 Windows CE 2.0 Edition (SQL Server CE 2.0) who plan to synchronize to SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005 databases will need to install the Connectivity Tools release on their servers running Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).
This page describes connectivity tools. Note that the "xx" in the file name is a placeholder for the language of the installation. Initially the connectivity tools will be available in English only ("en" for the placeholder "xx"). The SQL Server CE 2.0 Replication Components are provided for backward compatibility. Refer to the setup instructions for the installation of the connectivity tools.

| The replication components must be installed on the machine running the IIS server. In a two-machine scenario, SQL Server and IIS server are installed on the same machine. In a three-machine scenario, SQL Server and IIS server are installed on different machines.

| The supported version of IIS is IIS 5.x or later versions of IIS. (Supported on 32-bit Windows Server 2003, 32-bit Windows XP, and Windows 2000 SP4)
